We are pleased to announce the premiere of the jubilee, tenth edition of the report "Omni-commerce. I Buy Conveniently 2025", prepared by the Chamber of Electronic Economy in cooperation with Mobile Institute. This comprehensive study, based on a survey of over 2400 Internet users, provides key data on the Polish e-commerce market and sets trends for the coming years.
E-commerce is gaining strength: 100% penetration and mobility in the first place
2025 is another year of dynamic development of e-commerce in Poland. For the third consecutive year, e-shopping penetration reached 100%, which means that every surveyed consumer made a purchase online at least once. Regularly, in the last 6 months, as many as 93% of Internet users shop online, which is an increase of 6 percentage points compared to the previous year. What's more, 34% of e-customers make purchases online 5 or more times a month.
The report also highlights the growing popularity of mobile shopping, cross-border shopping and those made in social media. The smartphone has become the basic shopping tool for Poles, and 65% of mobile device owners use them to make purchases. Interestingly, this year the finalization of transactions on smartphones (39%) surpassed laptops (31%).
New era of payments and deliveries: speed, flexibility and security
Polish consumers are keen to use modern payment and logistics solutions. Preferences for BLIK, fast transfers and payments using electronic wallets have increased, while the share of people paying with cash has significantly decreased, both in e-commerce and in stationary stores.
As Michał Hull, Chief Executive Officer, President of the Management Board of Przelewy24, emphasizes:
"For Przelewy24, as a payment operator, this means more than just transaction processing - we become an integral part of the shopping experience, which today is defined by speed, flexibility and security."
Among the most frequently chosen delivery methods, parcel lockers were again found, as well as dedicated parcel collection points, i.e. PUDO. The speed and quality of deliveries remain one of the most important factors determining satisfaction with the purchase.
Michał Hull also adds how important flexibility in the payment process is:
"The growing importance of m-commerce confirms that the smartphone is now the basic shopping tool for Poles. This changes not only the technology on the part of stores, but also expectations regarding payment processes. Consumers no longer accept complicated forms, long waiting times for authorization or lack of tailored methods - every detail must be "mobile ready". For us, this is a clear indication: the future of payments is seamless transaction handling on the go from the application level, intuitively, instantly and with a full sense of control on the customer's side."
Optimization of expenses and changing shopping habits
In the face of the economic slowdown and rising prices, which 99% of surveyed Poles feel, consumers are looking for ways to optimize their budget. 6 out of 10 Internet users confirm that they are increasing their e-commerce spending in various categories or starting to buy products online that they previously bought stationary. The Internet provides competitive prices, attractive promotions and reduces the risk of purchase thanks to deferred payment options and simple returns.
The report draws attention to the problem of abandoned carts, which as many as 82% of online shoppers declare. The main reason is finding a more attractive offer from the competition, as well as the lack of the preferred delivery method or too high shipping cost.
Michał Hull emphasizes the role of payment operators in minimizing this phenomenon:
"Abandoned carts are a very important phenomenon. We know that today a customer decides to interrupt a purchase not due to a lack of need, but due to real obstacles: lack of a preferred payment method or too complicated a payment process in the store. This is where a payment operator can make a real difference - by providing tools that not only speed up the transaction, but above all eliminate friction that blocks the purchase decision. Every simplified click, every shortened payment path is a potentially recovered cart."
